How to Protect Intellectual Property Rights in Vietnam - Insights from Local Officials
– KIPO to Host the “Korea–Vietnam Intellectual Property Exchange Forum” (Sept. 16–19) –
– Invites Applications for “IP Protection Seminar for Companies Entering Vietnam” (Sept. 18) –

The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO, Commissioner Kim Wan Ki) announced that it will host the “Korea–Vietnam Intellectual Property Exchange Forum” from September 16 (Tue) to 19 (Fri) to strengthen bilateral cooperation on intellectual property (IP) and enhance IP protection for Korean companies expanding into the Vietnamese market. KIPO is also inviting companies to apply for participation in the “IP Protection Seminar for Companies Entering Vietnam” scheduled for September 18.

This exchange forum is designed to invite Vietnamese officials in charge of IP administration, in order to share major updates on laws and systems related to IP protection in both countries and to address challenges faced by Korean companies expanding into Vietnam.

The Vietnamese delegation will take part in the following activities:

At the seminar, the delegation will give presentations on Vietnam's IP system and key considerations for market entry, and will also provide specific answers to questions raised by participating Korean companies.

Director General Shin Sang Gon of the Intellectual Property Protection & International Cooperation Bureau at KIPO, stated, “The cooperation of local officials is essential to protect our companies’ intellectual property rights abroad. We hope this exchange will not only deepen our companies’ understanding of Vietnam's IP system but also provide an opportunity for them to directly convey their challenges.”
