특허청은 현재 보유하고 있는 국·내외 특허 관련 정보서비스의
이용을 촉진하기 위해 「특허정보로 가는 길」이라는 국문
브로셔와 영문브로셔 「Patent Information Service」를 제작·
배포하고 있다.

「특허정보로 가는 길」에는 국내특허정보, 국외특허정보, 비특허
정보로 나누어 보유하고 있는 특허정보의 종류, 이용기관, 자료이
용방법, 수수료에 관한 사항을 자세히 수록하고 있다.

「Patent Information Service」에는 보유하고 있는 자료에 대한
일반적인 정보(General Information), 보유자료 현황(Collections),
특허정보의 이용기관 및 자료이용방법(Services) 등으로 나누어
외국인들이 특허청이 보유하고 있는 각종 자료와 정보를 이용할
수 있도록 하고 있다.

특허청 특허도서관·서울사무소의 자료는 개가식으로 운영되고 있어 직접
서가에서 찾아볼 수 있고 복사 가능.
ㅇ 우편, 전화, 팩시밀기에 의한 이용
복사신청만이 가능하며, 복사신청시에는 자료의 종류(특·실·의·상),
발명(고안)의 명칭, 관련번호, 신청자 성명, 주소(전화번호), 수령방법
(직접, 우편)을 표시
ㅇ 인터넷에 의한 이용

산업재산 4권 출원건에 대한 심사처리 예정시기를 특허청 인터넷(http://

Patent Information Service


General Information
The KIPO maintains over 53 million copies of patent documents from all
over the world, containing approximately 16 thousand volumes and
400 periodicals related to science and technology. Such substantial
materials are available for investigation by the KIPO's examiners or
by the public as well.

Collections
The KIPO holds full texts of Patents, Utility Models, Official Gazettes
of Designs, Trademark, abstracts and indexes of Patents and Utility Models.

Services
The KIPO has endeavored to provide efficient services
through the KIPO's IP Library, Seoul Branch, cooperating
with the KIPRIC.

IP Library
Materials from 24 countries and 4 international organizations
are arranged by class or numerical order in paper form,
microform or on CD-ROM. All of these patent documents in the
IP Library are available to the public. An electronic database
is also provided at the Internet Corner.

"What is the status of my application?"
If you contact the KIPO's home page at http://www.kipo.go.kr,
at the site of "What is the status of my application?",
you can confirm the current stage of your application. Please
fill in the application number you want to find, and you can
learn the expected date of the start of the examination process.

KPRIS Search
At the web site of http://www.kipris.or.kr,
you can find information containing full texts, abstracts, drawings,
bibliographic data : KR(1947∼), US(1975∼), JP(1975∼), EPO(1978∼).

Seoul Branch
Patent documents from the KR, US, JP, and EPO are prepared for the
public. Among them, the KR documents are arranged by class or numerical
order, and the other countries' materials by class. Consulting these
materials, one may be able to sense the trends of relevant techniques
in the field you are investigating. The KIPRIS search is also possible
at the Seoul Branch.

Korean Industrial Property Rights Information Center(KIPRIS)
The KIPRIS(Korean Industrial Property Rights Service) is a service
provided by the KIPRIC that provides access to over 18 million
bibliographic records, drawings, abstracts, and full texts.
Access to the KIPRIS is available to those who obtain a membership
from the KIPRIC. On the internet, the home page is http://www.kipris.or.kr.

Copy Order
Requests to copy the KIPO's materials are possible by visiting in
person, or applying by mail, fax, phone, or the internet, both to the I
P Library and the Seoul Branch. The fee is ￦100 per page, additional
costs are included if the requests are made by mail.
